Steller Jay

This piece was a collaboration between myself and a friend/talented bird photographer, Kathy Waybrant. 


During her trip to British Columbia, she took some amazing photos of the Steller Jay.  Using her photos, I was able to create this painting. I just wish that I could have gotten a better photo of the finished painting. This photo does not show all the subtle difference in the blues. I guess that is why I am a painter and not a photographer. :P


I am kinda amazed at how quickly I was able to paint this.  I am also so proud of myself for not painting every feather, LOL.
